New York Trip

OKay, I think I got the pictures downloaded, so here are some pics from the trip: This first one shows exactly what everyone did once we got to the hotel room: veg out in front of the TV (Jerilynn was in the bedroom watching TV in there!) My comment: "we could have saved a lot of money and done this at home!" Everyone finally got hungry and we headed out to none other than Hard Rock Cafe New York City!
The food was as good as it ever is, the ambiance was fantastic! This is a picture of us standing in front of a showcase of the suits that the Beatles wore for something or other... It was pretty neat: they just hired a tour guide that will show you all the memorabilia that they have in their restaurant. She gave us the grand tour, which took almost an hour. We have a picture of us with her, but I figured you didn't want too big of a Travelogue, so stuck with pics of people you actually know (I think!)
These next two pictures are of the New York Public Library. Yes, we're the Nerd Family that thinks the Library is a tourist attraction extrordinaire! The Lions flanking the steps are kind of a national icon, so we had to get a pic. The little outdoor table and chairs {hey where did that picture go? It WAS here } are located in a park behind the library, and they have magazines and stuff out there that you can sit and read: very cool. (With an attendant so that they don't walk off with the patrons!)
I can't figure out how to get this picture upright (or even how to delete it and try to download it in a different direction, but this is a picture of the kids standing in front of one of the billboards for the play that we went to see. It was really good: the story of how the wicked witch in the story of the Wizard of Oz came to be. Anyway that's the short version of our New York Trip, but I'll just say, I was VERY IMPRESSED with New York Drivers. Yes, they do tend to trail the lights, and lane markers seem to be taken as just a suggestion, but I couldn't get over how polite they actually were to each other. They actually would yield to drivers needing to change lanes, and boy do they know how to squeeze into tiny spots!

Yeah, New York was pretty fun. The Hard Rock was awesome, the Beatles suits we're standing in front of are the suits they wore when they first came to America after they became famous. They flew TWA and they got the little backpacks that TWA used to give out to passengers, but theirs had their names stitched on them...We also got a pic of Ringo's backpack, maybe I'll post it later. And Wicked was awesome!!
