Hey Guys! ...talk about creating your own reality... I'm working on a little baby sweater for Kim Ehrhardt (Sandy and Don's daughter) who is expecting her second daughter in September. It has this cute yoke detailing with slipped stitches. I was working on the last row of the detailing, and was thinking to myself that it was disappointing that all the "fun stuff" was done, and now it was just stockinette stitch until just before the bottom of the sweater. Well, when I got to the end of the row, I found that I had made a mistake about 3/4 of the row back so the pattern was off by 2 stitches, so I ripped it out and redid it...only to realize that I was supposed to have made a buttonhole at the end of the row ABOVE that, so I had to rip the whole row out (again!) make the buttonhole, and reknit that last fancy row. Needless to say, by the time I got done knitting the same row nearly 3 times, I was kind of looking forward to "plain old stockinette"--and getting on with the project! Love you guys, and hope you're having a wonderful day! Terrie PS: anybody talk to Dave and Catherine lately? Would love to see something about what they're up to these days!

My news...
I just recieved an invitation to co-author a book with Tony Robins, Wayne Dyer, Paul Scheele, Brian Tracy and others titled Wake Up... Live the Life You Love. I am so excited to have been asked to submit a story for the book. I'm going to be a published author.
I love you,
Dianne

Dianne,
Here are a few graduation photos for you. I think you will recognize most of the people in the photos.

This is Cindi, my study-buddy from school, and of course me.

I haven't had any changes in work because of my degree. I have applied for a few positions with no luck to date.
Lately I have been spending my evenings sewing. I am making a crib set for my new granddaughter. Howard and I will be making a trip back to Kentucky the first of September to see Brooke.

Hello
Today Howard and I became Grandparents.
Howard's daughter Rebecca gave birth to Brooke Faith Michelle Doolin at 8:56 a.m. Kentucky time. Brooke was 6 lbs. 2 oz. and 20 inches long. Rebecca sent us a couple of pictures via cell phone so we could see the baby. (I figured out how to get the pictures from my phone to my computer.)

Hi Everyone! It's been a while since I've managed to snag the computer. (I just went through 68 emails!) We moved our computer into the back bedroom (Jerilynn's room, except that she's taken over the basement). No sooner than we got the move accomplished than we've had visitors galore: first my two nieces came for a week, then a friend of Brandon's stayed for a couple of days. He'll be back for 2 or 3 more next week while his parents are gone again, then the following week Norman's mom will be here for a week. Since the spare bed is in here as well, that means that I can't get in here either early or late...and the kids seem to have dibs on prime time--Norman taking over when he gets home from work! Finally, I came in this AM at about 0630...to find Brandon sacked out on the bed in here! Too bad-- I get the computer anyway! I am enjoying having the kids friends come over, though. I really missed having my house full of teens after Jerilynn went to school last year. Now Brandon's friends are starting to come over, and some of Jerilynn's friends are returning, too! I came home from work Saturday night at about 10PM to find almost a dozen kids here...Norman had run off to the basement and they were all sitting around the living room, dining room and computer room talking, playing on the computers (several laptops present as well) and with a movie playing in the background. It felt like home!

Wow!
Paul and I went kyaking today on the delta. This is the first time we've gone to the delta. We set off from Brannan Is. and went nearly 4 miles, at least that's what it looks like we did from looking at the map after we got back home.
It was very windy! It took us about an hour going out. On the way back the tide changed and it took us 4 1/2 hours to get back. The tide and the wind were incredible. No stopping for a rest or taking a break either. It was all we could do with both of us paddling to make any headway against the combined tide and wind.
We definitely worked our upper bodies well today. I've never paddled that long without at least a little break before. We should have guessed it would be a tough day for kyaking when the boat was nearly blown off the top of the Excursion by the wind just before we got to the park. But hey, it was too late to change destinations and we had no idea just how crazy it would be.
Well, we had fun, CHALLENGED our selves and probably worked off 10 pounds of fat. Not bad for a leisure weekend.
Have fun,
Dianne

Well, I'm trying to get a picture onto my profile, and I guess the easiest way is to add the picture here, then link to it...or something like that. So here is another picture of me in my sweater--this time with cricket, who ate my knitting needle when I got up for a few minutes. (I tried to keep using it, but it was horrible. I had to go buy another one because the wood kept catching on the yarn when it slid past the tooth marks!)
